Imaginary friend

from An outline in chalk by The Party Accident

lyrics

My imaginary friend

When we were young we played out in the sun
You couldn't part the two of us although we looked like one
You'd always sit beside me when we came in for tea
You'd never eat your sandwiches you gave them all to me

Though no one ekse can see you you're always by my side
You're my imaginary friend
I know that you were with me though people said I lied
About my imaginary friend

When we were young we played out in the rain
Splashing in the puddles well all kids are the same
Our clothes all torn and dirty from climbing up the tree
But though we were together they're only blaming me

As we grew older we also grew apart
I made some other friends though it was very hard
I couldn't talk to you then althouygh it made you sad
They would have called me crazy they would have called me mad

And now I'm getting older still I'm all alone again
I want you back beside me my very special friend
It seems I'm talking to myself but I know that you're there
The people call me crazy but I don't care
