Murder most foul

from An outline in chalk by The Party Accident

/

lyrics

Sun shining down on the grounds by the boating lake
Tea on the lawn quite well worn by the gardeners rake
All is bright and all is cleans but hidden just behind the scene

You’ll find a place where a case gives your face a look of fear
Stuck in a rut ‘til a knife in the gut makes it quite clear it’s murder

Life is so great village fete on the bowling green
Off to the pub for some grub to complete the scene
Please enjoy your ploughman’s lunch it won’t be long I’ve got a hunch

Some random bloke starts to choke on his coke with the arsenic in
Once not alive the detective arrives and the case begins it’s murder

Outline in chalk spoils the walk but the talks of the scandal here
Though she’s quite new there’s a few with a view that she’ll disappear
Within the houses of the rich there’s much to make the curtains twitch

Man dressed in whites has a fight puts out lights with a cricket bat
Everyone lies but they’ve got alibis though it’s obvious that
One of the cast is too fast and won’t last past the second act
And by part three we can see mystery has turned to fact
But the twist in the plot means the man we forgot fired the shot for murder.
